An afternoon of history (exploring the vineyard and winery) and culture (drinking fine wine like the Italianos). We will also carve out some time for everyone to stroll around Montalcino town, which is about a 10 minute drive away from Casanova di Neri. Our way of saying thank you for flying all the way to celebrate our marriage and our pleasure to experience one of our shared passions with you in the beautiful countryside of Tuscany.

Azienda Agricola Casanova di Neri has become become one of the most respected wineries of Montalcino if not in Italy, despite its relatively short history having been established only since 1971. Giacomo Neri runs this small family wine business, whose majority of wines are made with 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Casanova di Neri wines frequently rate in the 90s, with several wines attaining the perfect 100 score.

Montalcino is home to the famous full bodied and velvety Brunello di Montalcino wine. The hill-topped village of Montalcino existed since the time of the Ancient Etruscans. The village today still contains many reminders of medieval times including the impressive XIV century Fortress (the Rocca), the XIV century Romanesque Chiesa di Sant Agostino, the San Giovanni tower and a multitude of narrow cobblestone alleyways lined with shops and cafes. Olive groves and vineyards surround the hamlet and from the top of the village you have great views over the whole Val d'Orcia, with its rolling hills and Cyprus lined country roads. Piazza del Popolo is the main square surrounded by ancient porticos, which is a fantastic place for having a coffee, an Italian pastry, and perhaps a traditional Tuscan meal.
